DEADLINE FOR 1ST TIME HELB LOAN APPLICANTS IS 31ST AUGUST 2017
Are you a 2017/2018 undergraduate in search of 1st time HELB loan? This article is for you.
- Go to the helb portal and register if you do not yet have an account.
Upon filling in the details, click on CREATE ACCOUNT button, where you will be taken to a loading page as you wait for your account to be created.
Upon successful creation, you will be required to activate that account via a link that will be sent to you using the email address that you registered with.
Upon clicking the link sent via email, you will be redirected to the eportal login page whereby you will be required to login again using the credentials you had registered with.
Upon successful login, you will be taken to below page requiring your telephone details whereby you will be sent a verification code via sms to be input.
You will then be sent a verification code via the number and will be required to input it into the next screen shown below.
Upon successful verification of your mobile number, you will be directed to the next screen requiring:
Fill in the boxes and click Next, where you will be directed to another page below requiring:
After filling in, click next where you will be required to input:

After filling in the details, click ‘Finish’ button. You will then be directed to the loan products page shown below
Since this article is about first time applicants, click on the Undergraduate studies(1st time). A pop up will appear as shown below requiring additional details in regards to the loan you are applying for.
Choose your details required in the drop down menu, and Click on ‘Apply’
On the next screen you will be directed to the ‘maishaedu’ website whereby you will be required to:
watch the videos on the e-learning portal –OR – review the PDF and answer a few questions about the content.
Once you’ve reviewed the content, you will be required to complete and score above a 70% on the assessment in order to advance in the HELB loan application process with HELB. Answers to the assessment are included in the materials we have provided you. There is no need to look at other resources.
You will also have the option to open a KCB bank account.

Once you are ready to begin the assessment, click on the button, ‘I’ve reviewed the materials, lets begin the assessment.
You will then be directed to a page with a set of 10 questions, remember you must get a score of 70% or above in-order to proceed with the loan process.
Click on the CONGRATULATIONS,PROCEED WITH YOUR LOAN APPLICATION tab and you will be redirected to the login page again.
Upon login, you will be directed to the loan products page
Click on the Undergraduate studies ( 1st time ) and you will once again trigger a pop up
Fill in the required details in the drop down menus and click’ Apply’/
This action will take you to the loan application page as shown below:
