SCENARIO

You have been unemployed for a while now and you are desperately in search of a job, not necessarily a permanent one but one that can at least keep you fed. One day as you are surfing the internet going through the job sites, you catch a glimpse of a company looking for a temporary workforce to do some research work on its behalf.

You read through their requirements and going by them, you seem like a qualified candidate they are searching for. The salary scheme itself is not a bad one considering the state you are in right now.

One week later as you go through your mail, you catch a glimpse of one with a bold subject displaying CONGRATULATIONS!!!. You open it and inside reads:

Congratulations [insert your name here], you have been selected for an interview on [insert date] at [insert location] at precisely [insert time]. Failure to do so will result in you losing your chance.

On that day, you make sure you are an hour early at the rendez-vous point ready for the interview. Through the day you get your chance at the interview and by luck, you are informed that you have landed the job!!!!

For the next couple of weeks you diligently go about your research work until the end month of the 1st month elapses and you receive your first cheque of shs.25,000. This further motivates you as you work harder and harder the following months.

As the end month of the 2nd month approaches, no cheque comes your way causing you to seek the manager’s attention. His response to the delay of the cheques is that they have had low customer turnout hence lack the cash to pay for that month but they will surely pay you the accumulated sum on the next payday.

You reluctantly agree to continue providing your services for the remainder of the month. As the end month of the 3rd month approaches, you begin seeing less and less of the manager his excuses being that he is held up in meetings.

When the D-DAY for receiving your salary comes, you expect to be given shs50,000 however the manager does not make any appearance at all at the workplace and your efforts to seek his audience proves futile. Knowing very well that your 3mths have elapsed, you have no choice but to claim your money as a former employee of the organization.

So you spend the rest of your months chasing after your dues with only GOD being the only one who knows your fate of whether you will be paid or stringed around like a puppet.
