A Nairobi court has sentenced two former tourism executives for defrauding the Ministry of Tourism Sh. 8.9 million.
Former Permanent Secretary Rebecca Nabutola (Left) was sentenced to four years in jail and fined an additional Sh. 2 million.
Former Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) managing director Achieng Ongon’ga (Right) was sentenced to three years in jail and fined an additional Sh 1.5 million.
The two will face an added jail term of three years each should they fail to pay the fines.
Duncan Muriuki, a former KTB board member and owner of the Maniago safaris, was sentenced to seven years in jail.
He was further ordered to refund Sh. 18.3 million to the tourism board
